Septembers Gin Festival was a massive success! The event was held on Friday 8th and Saturday 9th with a crowd of over 100 attending each night.

Guests were treated to a selection of 44 gins including local gins from Keighley (Tinker gin), Haworth (Yorkshire Rhubarb), York (Hedgerow) and Brighouse (pHure), Harrogate (Masons & Slingsby) and Nidderdale (Whittaker’s Pink Particular).  And for those who didn’t drink gin or fancied a change there were cocktails and mocktails too.

A selection of tonics and garnishes were provided along with a booklet containing some background information on each gin including how it is best enjoyed, everyone was provided with a free glass to use on the night which they could take home afterwards.

Holden Hall was decorated in the style of an outdoor garden with planting and garden furniture and finished off with 2 home-made rustic bars to serve the drinks. Feedback from those who attended has been overwhelmingly positive with many asking when the next one is.

The gin festival was planned, organised and carried out by trustees and volunteers of the Oakworth Community Trust who are committed to taking over the running of the hall in order to keep it open and available to all residents of Oakworth.

If you would like more information on the Trust or to get involved join our mailing list, our Facebook group or keep an eye on the village notice boards.
